Adult Confirmation

The Adult Confirmation Program is for those who are already Baptised Catholic but who have yet to be Confirmed. For those who wish to become Catholic please see the RCIA Page or Becoming Catholic.
This Adult Confirmation Program is a process of preparation designed to prepare adult candidates for the Sacrament of Confirmation. Confirmation, together with Baptism and Eucharist, form the Sacraments of Initiation, all of which are intimately connected. In the Sacrament of Confirmation, the baptized person is "sealed with the gift of the Holy Spirit" and is strengthened for service to the Body of Christ.
Requirements of the Archdiocese to receive this sacrament include:- An adult, over 18, who is registered in one of the parishes in the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas.
- A person for whom the Pastor of their parish can testify that the candidate is prepared to receive the sacrament of Confirmation, including proof of Baptism and First Communion.
- Person, who if married, are in valid unions that are in accord with the regulations of the Catholic Church.
The preparation consists of discussion sessions on related topics and other activities, including regular attendance at Sunday and Holy Day Masses. The program meets weekly beginning in January until Pentecost Sunday, when the Sacrament of Confirmation for Adults is normally celebrated in our archdiocese.
